Closing Tabs started as a weekly look at news we didn’t cover on the site throughout the week. As the site has grown, however, we’ve moved away from reporting most news (you can catch most of it regurgitated on other sites anyway) in favor of more original opinions and editorials. Still, that news is out there, clogging up the tabs on our browsers. We’re revamping the column as a Tuesday/Thursday...

If you were looking around at sites like ours over the past week you probably saw a rumor floating around that George Lucas had plans for another set of Star Wars movies, this time in 3-D. This was met with the usual groaning and reminders of how he slaughtered our childhood by releasing the prequel trilogy and the special editions. The smart sites also recognized the likelihood that this wasn’t’a...

When I heard that Robot Chicken was taking another stab at Star Wars, I have to admit I felt a tad bit hesitant. The first Robot Chicken: Star Wars special was pretty funny, although a few of the skits were reused from the regular series. Was there really enough material for another Robot Chicken special? The answer is an undeniable yes, as Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode II provides even better laughs... 

Well, this is interesting. When J.J. Abrams said he was always more of a Star Wars fan, it appears he meant it. Somewhere in his Star Trek adaptation is a hidden R2-D2 – an easter egg I missed completely (in my defense, I was busy looking for the Tribble, which I also didn’t see). Now the studio behind the movie is challenging you to find Abrams’ R2-D2 cameo, with a prize from the movie up... 

If there’s one movie that has gotten a raw deal this year, it’s Fanboys. After over a year of delays for its theatrical release and a controversial edit choice (that wound up being negated anyway), the movie hit a small amount of theaters with little fanfare. Unless you live in a major metropolis, you haven’t gotten to see this movie yet. Unfortunately, it looks like that minimalistic approach...
