Alright, it’s Survivor time for the week! Ozzy’s gone, voted off last week, but probably not for good as we expect him to dominate Redemption Island for the remainder of the game. His former allies are still targets, however, and we fully expect them to be picked off one by one, as the game goes through an unfortunate predictable streak. Unfortunately, I was distracted by a very loud two-year old... 

Right from the get go, Ozzy is being the biggest wimp about the game. He got played last week and he doesn’t like being on the “wrong side of the blind side,” so he spends the teaser whining about being caught off guard and throwing off all of his previous alliances. Ozzy is no longer committing to his previous allies. Instead, as the trailers showed repeatedly, he’s declared himself a “free... 

I know it’s early in the season, but I have to say I’m unimpressed with how things are going so far. We knew from the get-go that neither Ozzy nor Coach were the kind of player we saw last season – no Boston Rob or Russell Hantz. I had hoped the rookie players would be a bit more interesting, but so far most of the moves have been predictable, with most of the rookies putting themselves... 

Jim is scheming from the start of the episode – an especially appropriate point of editing since this episode takes its name from something the marijuana distributor says, as opposed to the last few episodes, which have referenced Brandon. Still, this usually indicates one of two things: Jim will execute a major power play this week or Jim will have the tables turned on him and will be our exiting... 

Well, we’ve had two episodes and seen two people voted out, which means it’s time to start kicking the Redemption Island side of things into high gear. We join Christine and Semhar as they commiserate in their exile, showing neither woman has really learned from their mistakes. Christine makes a bizarre allusion to King Farouk and then announces, “I don’t think my tribe was ready for someone... 

Watching the recap for last week’s episode, I’m astonished at just how weak some of this season’s players are. Semhar is already on Redemption Island and (John) Cochrane stands out like a sore thumb. Meanwhile, the latest Hantz, Brandon, is having identity crisis issues, trying to keep his identity hidden while his “goodie-goodie” nature picks at him. Don’t get me wrong. As the episode... 

Continuing some of the traditions of last season, Survivor: Redemption Island, the new season of the show, Survivor: South Pacific brings back some of the formula that made that season so successful. First up: the show is bringing back two former players. While the pairing isn’t as poetic or majestic as Boston Rob and Russell Hanz (two of my all-time favorite Survivor players), the returning duo... 

Monday night sees the return of TLC’s highly popular Jon & Kate plus Eight, for a new season of supposedly 40 episodes.  On the last new episode the couple revealed their intention to separate, which became divorce as papers were filed on the very day the episode aired.  Do we now get Jon Plus Eight one week and Kate Plus Eight the next, or will up-coming shows be a continuation... 

It’s been a heck of a week for Hollywood, with three celebrity deaths and the release of one of this year’s biggest blockbuster films.
