We’re shifting gears again this week. By which I mean we’re sort of shifting into reverse. With the two new Rise of the Zandalari heroics out of the way, there’s not a whole lot of challenging non-raid content left to go around. For players deeply entrenched in these new dungeons, the “regular” heroics are becoming somewhat of a breeze to clear, and offer substantially less in terms of rewards.... 

Pardon the week-long hiatus, but as promised, we’re back and diving into Zul’Gurub at last, the second of the two newest Rise of the Zandalari heroic dungeons. And just like Zul’Aman, players beware that this dungeon is exceedingly challenging. You all heard that rant earlier though, so why don’t we skip the elaborate warnings and jump to the good stuff. Keep in mind, though, that trash... 

As promised, this week we’ll be addressing one of the two newest Rise of the Zandalari heroics. Before we get started, though, allow me a moment to emphasize one thing about these dungeons: they are challenging. They are meant to be challenging, and ultimately are an order of magnitude more difficult than other heroic dungeons at this time. There are mechanics in encounters, both with bosses and... 

Patch 4.1 has officially arrived, and with it two new 5-man heroic-difficulty dungeons. And what better way to celebrate this long-awaited patch than to dive headfirst into one of them? …Or so I’d like to say. Turns out they’re tough. Real tough. Tough to the point where I haven’t completed them yet, which kind of puts a damper on my ability to craft any sort of detailed description of said... 

We’re at a crossroads here. With normal raid content completed, the only options are to jump forward into heroic raids, or backwards into heroic 5-man dungeons. For a decent number of players, those dungeons still offer significantly challenging content, and with the not-too-distant arrival of the Call to Arms dungeon feature, odds are players will be seeing even more of their favorite locales with... 

We’re on the home stretch here, with only a single boss remaining in the initial normal Cataclysm raid content. Of course, the best was saved for last; wouldn’t be much of a grand finale if it happened in the middle. Suit up and head back to Blackwing Descent for a face-off with a very old friend: Nefarian. Nefarian Assuming the other five bosses in the instance have been defeated, Nefarian will... 

One down, two to go. This week sees a return to the Bastion of Twilight for a look at the next in the series of end-raid bosses. First, however, more foul trash mobs to work through. Let’s make it snappy and get to the good stuff. First up are two Faceless Ones. They come as a pair, and will randomly dissolve into a puddle of black ooze, which in turn spawns a large number of weak adds. Burn through... 

Up to this point, we’ve covered all but the final challenges of Cataclysm’s introductory raids. Blackwing Descent, the Throne of the Four Winds, and the Bastion of Twilight have all been infiltrated by bold adventurers in their search for glory and gear. Only the end bosses remain in each of those raids, but the difficulties they present are more than fitting for anyone who has managed to make... 

We’re about halfway through the Bastion of Twilight, with only one boss remaining before tackling the final challenge of this raid. But one step at a time, and the first is to get back to where we left off. For raiders returning to this instance, having cleared past Valiona and Theralion, look to the corners of the room just inside the entrance, and find numerous portals that all lead farther into... 

Pressing further into the Bastion of Twilight this week. With Halfus Wyrmbreaker down, three normal bosses remain, and it’s not a lengthy trek to the next encounter, so let’s get rolling. Immediately past Halfus, the raid will find a lengthy staircase descending further into the dungeon.
