If anyone had any doubt that Sony Pictures didn’t get Spider-Man after their heavy interference in Spider-Man 3, we’re about to remove all doubt. The studio clearly doesn’t get why fans fell in love with Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 and have just meddled their way into a potential new disaster of super proportions. The past few days have seen word that Spider-Man 4 was in bad territory... 

You may have heard me mention on last week’s podcast, when discussing Disney’s purchase of Marvel, that Pixar people were particularly excited about the business deal – so much so that some grumpy exec had to tell them to calm down at a meeting because they were so excited over the possibilities. One of the rumored possibilities was that Pixar had their eye on doing an Ant Man movie. While...

Yesterday the big news was Disney’s purchase of Marvel. Of course, Disney doesn’t get everything with that purchase. For instance, Paramount already has a 5-picture deal with Marvel that Disney will have to honor. Fox has a few of Marvel’s characters set up over at their studios, and they get to maintain the rights as long as they continue developing pictures for those characters. As I said yesterday,... 

Admittedly, a lot of days some cool news pops up while I’m at work, but nothing like this has hit recently. Today Disney executives announced their intention to purchase Marvel, the home of super heroes like Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America and more. Now the House of Mouse is getting into the super hero business, and it’s only costing them $4 billion dollars in cash and stocks to make it happen. Seriously,... 

I was surprised to read some of the reactions to Comic-Con’s Lost panel, specifically in regards to the “In Memoriam” part of it, and how quickly people had forgotten Mr. Eko, played by Adewale Akinnouye-Agbaje. How could you possibly forget Eko, whose death was the only one that came out of nowhere, with no foreshadowing or real closure for the character? Unfortunately, it was a move prompted... 

I’m very excited about all of the movies Marvel Comics has coming up. Iron Man 2 is definitely high on my list, and I’m very curious about how Thor and Ant-Man will be depicted. Above all else, however, I’m a Spider-Man fan, so any sort of word about the new movie gets me excited. We don’t have a word this time around, but a teaser poster that was spotted by AICN.
