Closing Tabs started as a weekly look at news we didn’t cover on the site throughout the week. As the site has grown, however, we’ve moved away from reporting most news (you can catch most of it regurgitated on other sites anyway) in favor of more original opinions and editorials. Still, that news is out there, clogging up the tabs on our browsers, so now we offer the column as a Tuesday/Thursday... 

Our title this week comes from Margaret’s review of Sex and the City, which is how she describes a moment of plot resolution. Still, she is a lot more positive about the movie than most critics, just as Rafe is more positive about Prince of Persia. Well, we’re just a bunch of positive people this week, as we look at our final two Walter Matthau movies, discuss the future of the X-Men franchise,... 

The pittance that MacGruber made at the box office shows that the SNL skit wasn’t quite read for a feature film. For a couple of years now, Lost fans have had to endure a trade-off. After several seasons of erratic running schedules filled with random repeats and interruptions, the series finally got a reprieve and moved into the realm of an uninterrupted run. Sure, the series doesn’t air until January of each year, but from there it goes straight through without the frustrating schedule we had to endure at... 

We didn’t go to San Diego for Comic-Con this year, instead opting to stay at home and celebrate our own Non-ic-Con. There may not be the cool guests or studio presentations, but the crowds are considerably smaller. You would think someone like me would have as much high definition content as possible. While I did have HD cable for a little while, there just wasn’t enough offered there at the time to justify the cost, especially when there came a time that I was trying to cut costs.
