You might have noticed over the past couple of weeks I’ve stopped writing recaps / reviews for Person of Interest. Or, you might not have noticed – it’s not exactly like they were the most popular articles on the site any way. So what happened? Well, the truth is I lost interest in the show. A family obligation caused me to miss an episode and I never made it up, not because of time constraints... 

We’re only on the third episode of Person of Interest, but the show is rapidly losing its luster for me. As much as I want to like it, particularly with the pedigree of Jonathan Nolan at the helm, the truth is the show is starting to become too formulaic and its characters too shrouded in secrecy. In an effort to keep from revealing all of the show’s cards, the showrunner is holding the cards too... 

It’s the first regular episode of the series and we get a look at some form of an opening monologue or introduction, with Finch explaining the basics of the machine and the show. Remember last week when I compared the show to Quantum Leap? This reeks of the opening that show had – an opening that had to be cut down over the various seasons.
