Weekly Blend #312 – I Used to Have Standards

We try a couple of new things this week, which leads to a few technological glitches and interruptions in the regular flow of the show. First, we try to call someone without testing things out, and secondly we take a few questions via Skype and Facebook. One works well, the other not so much. In the old days (when we had standards) Rafe might have let those technical gaffes bother him. Now he just takes another prozac and keeps on smiling. Join us for discussions on The Watch, updates on Aurora, Colorado, our reactions to the news that Kristen and Robert might not be a thing anymore, and Thomas’s delayed response to Rafe’s Savages review. Co-hosts: Owen, and Thomas.

There’s nothing like opposing views to spice up a podcast. That’s why there are debate competitions. Perhaps to encourage another debate, Rafe could ask Thomas what’s the point in watching “Dark Knight Rises” four or more times if he decides to rewatch it again this week. To quote Batman quoting Santayana in the Animated Series: “A fanatic is someone who redoubles his effort while losing sight of his goal.”

And to make Owen feel better, I have also never seen “Gone With The Wind”. Everytime I think about watching it, I remind myself that it is a four hour romance featuring a whiny Southern belle. Stops me in my tracks every time. Frankly I just don’t give a damn.

Good show as always and I look forward to Doc Rotten getting some action in the podcast. BTW when will Rafe be ever invited to the Monster Movie podcast where he can shockingly come out of the closet a la Michael Myers? ;)

I’d love to debate Rafe on his issues with Rises… though that’d probably take a whole separate podcast.
