Weekly Blend #299 – Wrath of the Full Moon

There’s a superstition in teaching about the effects of the full moon on students, and Rafe thinks that’s definitely something he saw this week, with the effects carrying into the show. The full staff of this episode talks about John Carter‘s loss to The Lorax at the box office, the surprisingly well-received upcoming 21 Jump Street, our early anticipation for The Hunger Games, and how the new trailer for The Avengers from a few weeks ago turned us around. Add in some passing references to The Daly Show and Kevin Smith, and there’s a wide mix going on this week, full moon or not. Co-hosts: Tim, Kelly, Owen, and Thomas.

Good show. And I’ll offer of a bit of a suggestion that may sound like blasphemy. Maybe you should consider holding off on episode 300 until the Sunday after next. You could make it an extra-sized 90 minute podcast (although two hours would be welcome) with reviews on the much anticipated Hunger Games and that other movie: “21 ‘Jump back to the ’90s’ Street”.

The extra time also might be used to corral some old time members of the podcast to come back like “voice of the Stupid People” Jeff Clark, Zeeshan KHAAAAAN, the “Podcast Dad” and, of course, queen of the podcast, Margaret Williams. Perhaps we could even manage a successful pre-show Google Hangout for the festive occasion.

In any case, looking forward to episode 300 and plenty of Gerard Butler references.
