Do you like guns, cars, women in torn shreds of clothing and fast paced war-zone action?
Welcome to Wasteland Angel, where you play the character aptly named “The Wasteland Angel,” who travels from town to town to defend those poor war-torn refugees from the devastation of gangs and others who wish to torture them.
Wasteland Angel is a nod to the old 1941-style shooters in a 3D landscape where you and your car (with upgradable weapons) target and demolish every dumbass who decides to try shooting you in your adrenaline-fueled rampage.
Picture the movie The Road Warrior, mix in a bit of the Road Rage and Twisted Metal games and give it a pinch of Carmageddon for fun and you have Wasteland Angel.
Steam is selling the game for $7.99, but I ask you to download the trailer first to watch the mayhem first and foremost to get your blood pumping.
As far as quirky little games go, Wasteland Angel is brilliant in execution and play style. I do wish they had inserted a multiplayer aspect; however I’m happy with the creativity of the single player campaigns for a nice break (from zombies) of blowing stuff up.
| Graphics: | Not the Crysis of the car-blowing up world, but fun enough to give the nods back to old-schoolers who miss their fast-paced mindless games: | 7 |
| Story: | You’re a hot woman with a car surrounded by firepower attempting to free towns from roaming gangs and bad guys by blowing up their rides. Good enough story for me. | 8 |
| Controls: | Easy to control, difficult to master. The way the game should be. | 8 |
| Sound: | Lots of explosions and gunfire… I like. | 9 |
| Kid Friendly: | Not so sure… play it a few times before you hand it over to your 14-year-old before they take driver’s training. | 7 |
| Replayability: | Easy one of the most replayable games out there. | 8 |
| Value: | Hours upon hours of fun… well worth the time invested. | 9 |
| Cost: | Normally $9.99 on Steam, as of this writing, $7.99: | 10 |
| Fun: | I loved playing this and am still having a blast still playing. Not as addictive as Diablo 2, but close. | 9 |
