We told you a while ago about plans for a complete Collector’s DVD set of the animated G.I. Joe series. Now we have some more details about the set, as well as some sweet looking images of the collector’s edition.

Shout! Factory is releasing the 17-disc set on July 22nd, which will include all 95 episodes of the original series, a voice cast reunion, a 1 gigabyte “dog tag” flash drive loaded with two silent comics, a collectable book, and all kinds of exclusive bonus material. For fans of the animated series, this is an incredible looking collector’s edition. On top of that, all of the content is stored in a neat looking G.I. Joe themed footlocker container.

The set is now available for pre-order over at GIJoeCollectorsSet.com/ for $145. Even though that’s a little pricy for my tastes, I’m very tempted to pre-order myself a copy – especially since I don’t have very high hopes for the live action movie coming out this summer.
